A new series based on the geometry found in crop circles. Size: 25.75" x 25.75" - Hand Milled and Stained Maple Wood Frame Location: Windmill HIll, UK 2009 An amazing piece pushing my artistic curiosity into the geometry found in crop circles. This astral design has intrigued me for years and when I learned to draw the design I knew it had to be rendered into a mosaic. It appears to me to be a lunar map of sorts…or perhaps a door to a cosmic portal we mere mortals cannot access? Made with glass and mirror, gold, adorned with pure copper, and finished with a beautiful encaustic wax painting treatment.
A new series based on the geometry found in crop circles. Size: 21" x 21" Location: Liddington Castle, Wiltshire - June 2010 I can’t put my finger on what this design may be. A solar reflection on a horizon? Gears? 3D orbs as part of an unknown magical object? I rendered this design in glass and mirror. Outside of the circle I used encaustic wax paint. Embedded in the wax are tiny sparkly orange and blue crystals. Glass, mirror, crystals, and encaustic paint.
