Vortex is an original 21.5" x 21.5" mosaic created with stained glass, colored mirror, sodalite, smoky quartz, and a Murano glass rondelle.
The geometry is an expanded Seed of Life, 24 petals instead of the traditional six, with the petal circles lined in sodalite to carry the energy of awareness and clarity. Smoky quartz runs along every other golden radial line for grounded transmutation, keeping the activation intelligent rather than chaotic. The colored mirror is adhered in a single direction across the entire surface, creating a torque that gives this piece its name. There is no visual resting point, and that was not entirely my conscious choice.
Have a look at the Murano glass rondell at center. Do you see the waves? I began with this beautiful piece thinking it would anchor the composition, but it had other plans. With that much movement at the center, the piece was never going to be still, and I've come to believe it knew exactly what it needed to be before I did. Vortex belongs where you are ready to move, clear, activate, and transform, where stagnation is not welcome and something in you already knows it.
